Privacy Policy
Effective date: March 24, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Terranode LLC (“Terranode,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Terranode Geospatial API (“Service”). We collect only what is necessary to operate the Service, we do not sell or share your data, and we are transparent about what we store and why.
What we collect
Section titled “What we collect”- Email address — provided at signup, stored encrypted at rest
- API key — generated at signup, used to authenticate your requests
- Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers.
- Usage data — API request counts, request metadata (timestamp, endpoint, status, latency), and source IP address for rate limiting and abuse prevention (not used for tracking or profiling)
- Your datasets — files you upload and the processed spatial indexes derived from them
What we do not collect
Section titled “What we do not collect”- Passwords — we use one-time email verification codes, not passwords
- Query coordinates or geometry content — we log access patterns, not the spatial data you query
- Tracking cookies or analytics scripts — the API has no cookies; the docs site has no analytics
How we store your data
Section titled “How we store your data”- All data is encrypted at rest and in transit
- Your data is architecturally separated by user ID, with no designed cross-tenant access paths
Security
Section titled “Security”We use industry-standard measures to protect your data. However, no system is completely secure. By using the Service, you acknowledge that there is inherent risk in transmitting and storing data over the internet.
How we use your data
Section titled “How we use your data”We use your data to:
- Operate the Service (process datasets, serve queries, enforce quotas)
- Send transactional emails (verification codes, API key delivery)
- Monitor Service health and debug errors (using anonymized, structured logs)
We do not sell, share, or provide your data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or model training. We do not monitor or inspect the contents of datasets you upload to the Service.
Data retention
Section titled “Data retention”- Account data: Retained as long as your account is active. Deleted upon account closure.
- Datasets: Retained indefinitely while your account is active. Deleted immediately when you delete a dataset via the API, or upon account closure.
- Usage logs: Retained for up to 90 days for operational purposes, then deleted.
Your rights
Section titled “Your rights”You may request any of the following by emailing privacy@terranode.co:
- Access: A copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Update your email address or account details
- Deletion: Permanent deletion of your account and all associated data
These rights are provided regardless of your location. We will respond to requests within 30 days.

Changes to this policy
Section titled “Changes to this policy”If we make material changes, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before they take effect.
