Terms of Service
Effective date: March 24, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Terranode Geospatial API (“Service”) operated by Terranode LLC (“Terranode,” “we,” “us”). By creating an account, you agree to these Terms.
Beta disclaimer
Section titled “Beta disclaimer”The Service is currently in Beta. Features, limits, and pricing may change. We provide the Service “as is” during Beta with no uptime guarantee or service-level agreement.
Your account
Section titled “Your account”You must provide a valid email address to create an account. You are responsible for all activity under your API key. Do not share your API key or use it in client-side code where it can be exposed.
If you suspect your key has been compromised, email support@terranode.co and we will rotate it.
Acceptable use
Section titled “Acceptable use”You may use the Service for any lawful purpose. You may not:
- Attempt to access another user’s datasets or account data
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or bulk-download pre-loaded system datasets
- Circumvent rate limits, quotas, or access controls
- Use the Service to build, support, or power a product or service that resells, redistributes, or repackages query results, geocoded coordinates, or enrichment data to third parties — except as features embedded in your own end-user applications
- Submit requests designed to degrade the Service for other users
Your data
Section titled “Your data”You retain full ownership of any datasets you upload. We do not access your data except as required to operate the Service (such as processing, indexing, and serving queries). We do not use your data to train models or for any purpose beyond providing the Service to you.
You may delete your datasets at any time via the API. Deletion removes the data from storage permanently.
Sensitive data
Section titled “Sensitive data”You agree not to upload or process sensitive personal data (such as health information, financial account numbers, or government identifiers) using the Service.
We do not monitor or inspect the contents of your data. However, if sensitive personal data is brought to our attention (for example, through a support request or legal obligation), we may delete it to reduce risk and protect the integrity of the Service.
System datasets
Section titled “System datasets”Pre-loaded system datasets (Census boundaries, political districts, metropolitan areas, and others listed in the dataset catalog) are sourced from U.S. government agencies and are public domain. Terranode does not claim ownership of public data. We publish the source, vintage, and update cycle for every system dataset.
API usage
Section titled “API usage”All requests — whether direct, via Zapier, n8n, MCP, or any other integration — count against your monthly quota. Current limits are published on the Limits & Pricing page.
We may throttle or suspend access if your usage threatens the stability of the Service for other users. We will notify you before suspending access when possible.
Disclaimer of warranties
Section titled “Disclaimer of warranties”The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. This disclaimer applies regardless of whether the Service is in Beta or general availability.
The Service relies on third-party data sources (U.S. Census Bureau, state agencies, and others). We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of data from external sources. You are responsible for verifying that query results meet your requirements before acting on them.
Data integrity and backups
Section titled “Data integrity and backups”While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, the Service is not a system of record and we do not guarantee against data loss. You are responsible for maintaining your own backups of any data you upload or process using the Service.
Limitation of liability
Section titled “Limitation of liability”To the maximum extent permitted by law, Terranode LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, revenue, or business opportunity. Our total aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
Indemnification
Section titled “Indemnification”You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Terranode LLC from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your upload of data that infringes the rights of any third party.
Governing law
Section titled “Governing law”These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.
Service changes
Section titled “Service changes”We may modify, limit, or discontinue features of the Service at any time, especially during the Beta period. We will make reasonable efforts to communicate significant changes in advance when possible.
Changes to these Terms
Section titled “Changes to these Terms”We may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
Termination
Section titled “Termination”You may close your account at any time by emailing support@terranode.co. We may terminate your account for violation of these Terms.
